Durham Public Schools has had a network of public Montessori schools for more than 20 years. This year, as part of an ambitious district-wide restructuring and boundary redrawing intended to improve equity and neighborhood access to magnet schools, DPS is adding a new middle school program, Lucas Montessori (formerly Lucas Middle School).
