Lee Montessori Earns AMI Recognition

6/1/2018 • Washington, DC • Lee Montessori Public Charter School has become the only  public Montessori school in Washington, D.C. to receive Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) Recognition at both the Primary (ages three to six) and Elementary (ages six to twelve) levels. (In DC, J. C. Nalle Elementary School and Langdon Educational Campus are Recognized at the Primary levels.)

AMI-USA, the U.S. affiliate of AMI, grants Recognition to schools that demonstrate their adherence to “Montessori’s principles and practices in their original integrity and completeness.”  16 public schools and 195 private schools in the U.S. have earned this status.
