8/8/16 • Burlington, WI • Burlington Public Montessori to Consolidate Under One Roof
August 8, 2016 • Burlington, Wisconsin • It looks as if Burlington public Montessori schools will prevail in their long-running campaign to unite a K4-3rd grade program (at Cooper Elementary) and a 4th-6th grade school (at Dyer Intermediate) in one building, and to keep their 6th years in the program, rather than move them to a middle school. The Burlington Area School District has been holding meetings and considering the impact of Montessori on district enrollment over the last year, covered here, here, and here.
David worked in private Montessori for more than twenty years as a parent, three-to-six year-old and adolescent teacher, administrator, writer, speaker, and advocate. In 2016 he began working with the National Center for Montessori in the Public Sector. David lives in Portland, Oregon.
